Gidday

It seems sort of fitting to begin this blog post with the good ol' Aussie greeting as it seems like it's been a while. It's been one very hectic month here in our little neck of the woods. We've had all sorts of outing and events and the general chaoticness (that so deserves to be a real word) that goes with kids and school and all their assorted activities and sports. 

Amongst all the goodness that is domesticity at its best, I've been hard at it on the pattern front. I have quite a number of patterns due for release shortly. Two are part of the Red Riding Hood Yarn Winter Yarn Club, and are all very hush hush. I am quite busting to show these off but will have to wait a few more weeks yet. 

The end of April saw the end of the Gidday Baby Knit-A-Long which was so so much fun. I loved seeing all those teeny tiny woollies being knit up and I hope a few people got to know Nan's beautiful White Gum Wool. I know that the two winners of the KAL random draw were very excited to get their hands on some White Gum Wool and Augustbird goodies. Such wonderful sponsors who I am very very thankful for.

Amongst all this I did release the full size range of the pattern, which is named Gidday. The colours Toby chose for his cardie turned out so well, you've heard me bang on about it before; but I truly believe the Gum Grey from White Gum Wool is just one of the most stunning staple garment colours around. I'm currently knitting myself the large size Uwland in it and it is so glorious it makes me giddy just thinking about wearing it. 

Nan told me herself she spent a lot of time making sure that Hawthorn was the perfect red. And she really got it right, it has such an amazing depth of colour to it. I'm going to cast on a Tully this week in Hawthorn and I am really looking forward to seeing how it knits up as a full size garment.

Just like the smaller version, Gidday is simple and stylish. A cardigan designed to showcase amazing yarn; whether you have enough for the whole cardie or just enough to stripe the yoke.  It's top down and seamless with extra special attention paid to finishing details to give your knitting that polished look.
